Every Business Has Three Faces

The face the public sees. The office nobody sees. The ground nobody thinks about until the storm. Why C&D runs all three in one case.

Every Business Has Three Faces

Every business has three faces, whether anyone is minding them or not.

The front is the face to the public: the website, the brand, the products on the shelf, the promotion. It is the only face most businesses ever pay anyone to look at — which is why so many good businesses look ordinary. Their container is fine. What fills it was never built: the story, treated as property and turned into a sonic ID, digital products, a book.

The back is the office: credit, books, funding readiness, records. It is invisible to customers and decisive to everything. A business with a beautiful front and a disordered back is a storefront on a cracked foundation — it can sell, but it cannot borrow, cannot scale, and cannot survive a bad quarter it didn't cause.

The ground is what the business stands on: the property it occupies, the coverage that protects it, and the plan for the day something goes wrong. Almost nobody minds the ground until the storm — and on that day, the difference between a business that recovers and a business that closes is whether someone licensed was holding the ground all along. At C&D that ground is held by Derrick Gilbert, licensed in real estate, insurance, and claims adjustment: property reviewed, coverage audited as the business grows, and recovery run properly when loss comes.

Here is what changes when one house minds all three: the conversation about goals becomes a whole conversation. A vendor who only built your website knows your face. A bookkeeper who only sees your ledger knows your numbers. Neither can tell you whether the future you're describing fits the business you actually have. We can — because your case holds the face, the office, and the ground at once.

Build the face. Sort the office. Protect the ground. It is not our slogan. It is our org chart.

The door: every article in this journal ends at the same place — a conversation. Founding intake at C&D Strategies is open, personally, a few businesses at a time. Begin your case.
